The election year programming of the empowering women in politics program took a slightly different term as we focused solely on female parliamentary candidates.

The situation is dire. Currently, we have only 40 female parliamentary candidates. Out of those 40, 11 will not be re-contesting.

Because of this, the EWIP program this year is focusing on 2 components.

Female parliamentary candidates

Male champions.

The program this year will aim to support the participants to develop their campaign strategies in everything from research to messaging, budgeting, fundraising, creating a campaign headquarters, communication and then personalized support during the campaign period up to elections.

The program kicked off with an 8-day residential conference at Volta hotel, Akosombo. The first 3 days were facilitated by Mr. Tomislav Damnjanovic, a renowned international political strategist who took the ladies through various elements and practical sessions on political campaign strategy development.

The next 3 days were handled by resource people selected by the party themselves
