Africa's future lies in the hands of its youth, a notion echoed by leaders like Kofi
Annan and Aya Chebbi. With over 1.3 billion people on the continent, the
potential for growth and innovation is immense, particularly in countries like
Ghana, where 60% of the population is under 25. Despite this demographic
dividend, African youth face numerous challenges, from limited access to
quality education to political exclusion.
The Ghana Youth Leadership Academy (GYLA), spearheaded by LeadAfrique
International, seeks to address these challenges by empowering young leaders
through a comprehensive year-long fellowship program. From team-building
exercises to mentorship programs and community service initiatives, GYLA
provides participants with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to become
responsive and innovative leaders.
Through thematic engagements focused on leadership training, mentorship, community
service, networking, capacity building, personal development, and policy
engagement, GYLA aims to cultivate a new generation of purposeful leaders
